Do any of you remember when these were popular,--(in the 60's, or so???)---I have most of the parts to put one together now but cant find the plans!---Surplus Center sold the kits and parts in the 60's, and I want a DC WELDER!!! enough of this wire crap!!!---You just cant beat a DC unit!---I learned to weld on one of them and had a heck of a time going to ac, but finally got good enough with it for my own use!
The P-1 generator is aircraft type, 200 amp--28 volts , and takes OVER 20 hp engine to pull it at rated output and rpm, (rpm range 3,500 to over 4,000)!
I don't have a rheostat with the parts, but I think everything else is there and still connected together! thanks; sonny

Re: P-1 generator welder
Hi Sonny. Please forgive me for the unrelated question for you.
I'm going to put together a UBU and UT mini-mo together like the ones you had/have. While on a google search your combination showed up with pics, but not all of them.
Do you still have the pics? Do you still have any of the components of the combination?
My dad back in the early 60s had piggy backed a jd G and a mm U and pulled a 5-16 jd plow, and now I'd like to try my luck with the UBU and UT.
Please email me if you can help me. I live up by the Quad Cities.
Thank You!! Dave
