International 200 spreader

Postby absrio » Sat Sep 13, 2014 2:08 pm

I found lots of prices for the 100, but not the 200.

I am looking at this one. http://fortwayne.craigslist.org/grd/4616380828.html

Will my Cub handle it loaded with old barn straw and half loads of chicken manure? Is this a good price or what should I offer.

The Cub will probably pull it okay, but if you have hilly land, the Cub brakes might not be adequate. The side panels tend to rust at the bottom where they overlap the angle iron. If the bottom side of the round part of the apron links are worn flat and are thin, you might end up with some links breaking. The bushings on the rear auger tend to get wallered out too, so take a peak under the chain guards. It looks like it may have just had an external coat of paint prior to sale. I've seen them sell for higher and much lower. You might want to make him an offer that you are comfortable with and see if it's accepted. The rear tires are 7.50 x 20. It used to be easy to find old truck tires to replace them, but that is getting harder to do also. Spreader tires are usually mounted backwards of tractor tires since they are ground driven. This spreader has one each direction (which probably isn't a critical thing).

This is my spreader I use for spreading yard waste and other trash. My cub struggles with it unloaded so if it isn't a 100 spreader I would not try to pull it with a cub. I think mine is a number 30 so it is meant for the h and m tractors. My thoughts.
