International 4 wheel manure spreader

I am looking at a 4 steel wheeled horse pulled manure spreader what is the difference between a 100 and 200 and where might be a place to get a new apron. I think both use a S link and if you know the width of the spreaders rear wheels. Thanks

A 100 is smaller than a 200. The 100 is 40 bushel and the 200 is 65 bushel. The chain can be picked up at any place like Mills Fleet farm. I don't recall the chain number but 55 comes to mind. If you go and find a parts book for the specific spreader it should tell you. A 100-H is a hard to find spreader as I understand. The 200-H is more common, but not that common.

The IH spreaders use an "S" link which was not used by anyone else and is therefore hard to find. The 200-H (4 wheel,horse drawn) will have longer chains on both sides (which is okay), but the crossbars will be too long to fit the 100. You could grind off the rivets on one side, shorten the crossbars, and re-rivet or bolt the crossbar back on. It could be cheaper to buy a whole spreader than to buy a new apron chain. Look at the bottom of the round portion of the link. With time, they will wear flat and that is where they usually break. As anyone will attest, they only break when the spreader is full.

Edit: The 100-H is three wheeled with a lever on each side of the spreader (so there can be a seat in the middle).

It is a 200-H. I have a team of half lingers that need to work. He wants 200.00 for the spreader. Short of the apron and a seat all else is intact.

Bought it now I need a seat and a pole and some work done on the hitch and it will be ready to at least pull around the yard.

Are seats on other spreaders the same as ihc seats or does everyone make different widths. It would be nice to have the right seat but any seat that attaches to the spring part of seat(which I also need) would be nice. I think the spring part is about 4 in wide. Kneed to measure that. Thanks

I know the chain is an S-link. The rear chain on the left is the same size as the chain on the apron spreader. The rear chain on right appears to be smaller, at least it is on other ihc 200-H that I saw. Does anyone know if there are 2 sizes to the S-links. Thanks

The S link only comes in one size that I know of, but there is a right and left where the crossbars attach ( SB-R and SB-L). My manual shows the spiral drive chain as 38 no.55 steel links and the upper cylinder drive chain as 36 no.62 steel links. The seats I have are with two rows of holes and the center is an open "+" shape where a carriage bolt goes. In looking on eBay, that appears to be a somewhat universal style seat.

I found a seat and brace attaching it to the spreader this weekend. I am having a hard time finding the rear chain on the right. I found a new apron chain and bars on the web one for 350 and the other for around 500. I'm not sure if they are different qualities though. I have a broken plate off the spreader that attaches to the hitch. After having that redone or welded and put on, regrease front wheel bearings I should be able to pull it around. The rear beater bar is bent not sure if I get it off if I can straighten or buy a new bar. It is solid and one inch in diameter

Some of my spokes are a little thin. Can one put a bead of weld on them to reinforce?
