Goofy things?

Postby Jason (IL) » Tue Feb 04, 2014 9:21 pm

I was so frustrated the past few days with our Case VAC. It started for me so I could move it around, I was sick of pushing it around. We'll it hasn't started since and i went back and checked everything I had done. All we have done is convert it to 12 volt. Well I wired everything up, put a resister enforce the coil and thought to myself, it should fire right up? Well it didn't, so I was checking everything, then I told the kids tonight let's take the resister and coil off and replace it with this 12 volt coil that had sitting in the garage. What do you know, it fired right up instantly. Man was I happy and relieved. The 3 kids present tonight also we're given more motivation to come back tomorrow on the snow day and finish up the rest. Our first show will be Feb 18.

What a great night

Enjoy, and those getting the snow be careful.

Jason?!!! --- on that resistor did you try a jumper/bypass wire just till it starts then remove it?---I have 1 tractor that I had to put a bypass switch on it ant turn it on first until engine starts, then turn the switch off! it should then keep running! thanks ; sonny

No bypass. Didn't think about doing that. The resister tested good at 4.8 volt on the other end so didn't think it was bad till I just switched to a different coil. That solved all problems.
