Heck of it is, one would probably get more for the 8N than the B-414 and the 414 is the better tractor IMO. You couldn't give me a flatcar load of those redbellies.....

Hi Boss,
8N looks to be in good shape, always liked that little tractor, and there are quite a good many of them in Ireland. Don't know enough about the 414 to comment.
Good luck with them both, and have a Merry Christmas, that goes to all the contributors to the forum.
Bernard,
Donegal Cub.

Donegal, I think Ford made them in Ireland for a time. Surely they made tractors there, but not sure about 8N. They are good stout tractors, but heck, I like yeller Cubs too.
Only saw a 414 once, it was parked. Nice looking tractor, but I bet the 8N is cheaper to keep going. If you need a loader, the Ford wins in that department too.

Boss, you're getting to be quite the Ford guy. I started tractor driving at 3 years old on a Ford, long before driving the Super M.
If truth be known, I still have a Ford in the back corner of the barn.

I see you have the oil drain pan under the Ford to catch the oil leaks…. I had to say something bad about
Fords…
red is in my blood
… just kidding… it looks like you found some good tractors.

Hi Buzzard Wing yes Ford did make tractors in Ireland from 1927 - 1933 and then its whole production and assembly was moved to Dagenham in England in '33. the Ford N series went into production in 1939 - '54, so none were made in Ireland. In fact the Ford N 8 came on stream in 1947 and was the cause of the major split between Ford & Ferguson, resulting in a settlement in favour of Ferguson, after a long and protracted court case, to the tune of 10 Million Dollars. So making the Ford 8 N a very famous tractor indeed. Happy Christmas to all you fantastic guys on the Cub Forum/

Yep, Ford got caught 'stealing' Ferguson's three point hitch. Farming would have been a lot different if the 3 point and IH's Fast Hitch had not been proprietary.
