Farmall Cub

Just picked this up last night. I found some info when I did a search on it but not much. One guy had asked about one a couple years ago but couldn't find much either. He decided his was a 10". He didn't post any pictures but it sounded about like mine. I'm not sure just how to measure a plow bottom but I would think it to be a 8" or 10". Any one ever come across one like it? The only writing on it is "Blount DB". From what I did find it's possibly a Blount Plow Works from Evansville, IN.








It came with one of those green LGT's. I wasn't looking for one (actually I was looking for a Cub Cadet) but I couldn't pass it up for the price. It came with this plow, a rototiller, and a snow blower. The rear tires are practically brand new and worth more then I paid for the works.

It was one of those things that keeps one's faith in humanity. I tried to buy it about 6 or 7 years ago but the lady wasn't going to sell it. Yesterday she contacted my wife and said some one was interested in buying it but thought we should have first choice on it. For the price she gave I jumped on it with out even knowing what model or condition. I thought it might have been a 110 but it turned out to be a 112. Some gas, a battery and about 7 shots of starting fluid and it was running.

I don't have a lot of good luck but I do seem to fall into these kind of deals occasionally.

Sounds like a nice find...don't know much about the plow but can tell you how to measure it. They are measured by the width of the cut in the furrow. Measure from the lanside to the trailing edge of the share and that should get you close. This measurement might be a tad bit shy of the advertised cutting width. OH...nice toy even if it is green. I have a weak moment and let something green stay overnight on the farm too. lol

Thanks lucky1; I thought that might be the way to measure. I have wondered for years how it was done and just what the measurement referred to.

Mark, I have 2 John Deere model 112, one was my dad's that he had for years and I got when passed about 26 years ago, so its been in the family a long time. They are fun little machines. They have a variable speed control unit that you can fiddle with all your spare time and still not keep them running correctly. ( At least I can't on my 2). But other than that they are tough and strong for their size. I know you will enjoy it.
