Has anyone tried replacing the pto clutch in a Cub/cat 6284? The gears are too tight and won't turn. Any help would be appreciated!

I doubt anyone on here has worked on one of those, as they are pretty new tractors (compared to most on this forum they are brand new).

However, you might give this a try. I believe the PTO on that tractor is a 3 position, mid, both, rear. You might be better off to switch the PTO drive selector to the rear position because you can access the rear PTO shaft the easiest. Then, you should be able to turn the rear PTO shaft by hand to help you free up the gears inside the transmission. The mid PTO shaft is tiny, and comes out of the front of the transmission, where the belly mower is driven from, and it is nearly impossible to access this to wiggle or turn it while working on the tranny. Just some thoughts. I've not actually worked on one to repair it, just put them together setting them up when new.

Good luck,
Bill
