Joel:

Looks more like a fertilizer to me ... unless it is missing something up front to open up the seed bed. The hillers would close the seed bed.

Is it a McCormick? Don't know. Is it worth anything? Depends on what you want to do with it. I like it and would definitely fix it up/refresh it if it were mine :!: It actually looks like it could be brought back and then used  :D

good point. I don't know. The relative was showing me around the place and said he might be interested in selling it. He used to farm but said it came with the property when he bought it 40 years ago. I think he wants my help to get it sold. :) I myself don't want to use it... looks like a lot of work!

If it is a hiller it would appear to me to run down whatever was being hilled so it would be good for pre plant only. May be missing parts. I can't see any drive for the fertilizer. Don't have any use for it since I don't have a horse nor mule. It may be that the best place for it is a museum. Vern

I have used one like it about 45 years ago or so :D it is a fertilizer distributor, was use to make beds and put down fertilizer at the same time, It will bring $10-$25 at a sale if there is a bid on it to start with, yard work at best.

It's a pretty cool looking piece. Thanks for the info! I was thinking it might bring less than $100. I'm surprised it may for as low as $10. I wonder here in a larger city area if it might bring a little more. Either way, I'm not sure he'd want to part with it for that. I think he expected it to be more rare...
I've gotten a few PMs regarding it already... so there is a market for it! :)
