Yerf Dog exploded in my shop

At least that is what it looks like. Neighbor's 25+ year old son took Jeff's Yerf Dog Scout hunting, but while he had it an oil cooler line came loose on the engine. It started making noise but he didn't want to walk the mile back to his truck so he drove it till it died. Now it looks like it is fogging for mosquitoes when you drive it. After Jeff and I working about 3 hours this morning, we can at least see the head.
The problem is that neither one of us knows anything about these little GY6 engines. I have found a service manual I am downloading, but this is going to be a learning experience.
