Farmall Cub

A friend of mine snagged an almost complete Earthmaster tractor from the local scrap yard in Hammond, LA. Unbelievable find! Anyone out there have an Earthmaster? He needs to do some transmission work and needs a couple of replacement gears. Did a little research for him and found out there are no more parts available, except through donor tractors. I would imagine whoever has an Earthmaster would want to keep their parts!

Anyway, he looked at the transmission and compared it to one on an Avery and found they were similar looking. He says the Avery and the Moline tractors used Clark transmissions and he's wondering if what he has on the Earthmaster is a Clark transmission. Does anyone know anything about this?

I don't know that much about the Earth Master, specifically, but I do think they used a Clark transmission that may be the same as was used in certain Avery's. I don't know if the Earth Master is similar, in size, to the Avery V or the A, but may share components with one of those models. Several companies used Clark transmissions, so there may be other possible donor sources. Cockshutt 20, Oliver 55, Minneapolies Moline BF & BG (built by Avery) are a few that used that basic style Clark trans, I'm sure there are others I'm not thinking of at the moment.

I have one of the California earthmasters. Parts for may things are still available. The transmission is something I never heard about.
The link above is a good source, they have something they call the ERT, Earthmaster research team, and that group will get you the answers to the transmission question. Does your friend have a NC or CA tractor?

Not much of a marketing network when it came out but overall I think it was a much better tractor than the cub, and I have now 6 cubs. Few implements but there are some folks selling parts, i.e. transmissions, finals, etc...

I contacted the ERT on the link and the response I got was that there was no known source of parts for the transmissions and if I found a source, to let them know and they would broadcast it worldwide. My friend has an Avery V and he's going to open it up and compare parts. Best shot he has right now. Thanks for the all the responses. If anything else changes, I'll be sure to post it here.
