I got my 1937 Sears Handiman out this morning and had my son film us a little video. Of course after sitting in the shed for a yr, it started up on the first pull. Very neat piece of gardening equipment. I like that style of farming/gardening equipment. I have seen a few models like that over the years but mostly in junk piles or as yard art. This is the first one I have seen under it's own power. Very nice - I imagine your collection is pretty cool

I like the yard art garden as well.. very interesting use of old tractor parts. As an aside, I have the original engine that Dad used on the Putt-Putt and it uses a similar pull cord. Simple but effective.

I didnt post it, but i also have a 1933, 34 and 35 Handiman tractors and some attachments for them. Only the 34 doesnt run. Theres nothing better than running a tractor on full steel.

i only have pictures right now of the baby 33 model. This is the first true David Bradley garden tractor. There were 2 models before this but they were made out of Walsh Tractor models. Hopefully i can get a picture to post, i stuggle with that here on this site.

That is pretty cool. I enjoyed the video and pictures. I have a two wheel garden tractor that was purchased from the local co-op store in 1941. It was purchased new by a good friends father in law. I use it every year in the garden and it always starts right up. After using it I have come the realize that folks must have been a whole lot tougher back then.

That tractor is a Blackhawk, and yes they were made for the Coop, along with many other farm equipment items. Dont see them often in Iowa as they mostly sold them in OH, MI, IN and those close states. I have a 46 sitting on the shelf here that i bought at a show in southern MI.
