Farmall Cub

In reference to my other post about the Farmall C, I have a couple of questions maybe some here could help me with.

In talking with the fellow, he now says that it is a Super C with a wide front end and hydraulics run off a pump at the rear PTO.
He also said it had Cultivision, seat off set.

Any way, I plan to have a look in a day or so.
My questions are:

Did the C or Super C come with a wide front end?
Did the C or Super C come with a off set seat?

I'm starting to wonder if this is a Super A or some other letter series.

I have the serial numbers for all three so I will be able to tell what it is when I go look.

Wide front would have been available as an option I believe. This is not an offset tractor.

Go to YTMAG.com and click on "Farmall IH" on the menu bar at the top. On the left side of that page is a column. Scan down to "Articles". Under that you will find listed the profile for a Farmall C.

One of my grand fathers was in the Marine wrecking business. He raised sunken ships and barges. Laid cables and built bridge abutments. I was allowed to go with him summers as a teen ager. It was an experience i never forgot. The Memory of being able to hand feed a 6 foot grate in a forced draft steam boiler, with out blow throughs or dead spots because of too little or much coal gives me the shivers. You had to anticipate the pumps and hoisting engines need for steam for if you didn't have sufficien head up you held up the whole job and if too much it was obvioue to all by blow off.
Good memories of good people and good days. It was during WWII and Pop had to sneak me and my brother Bob on to the jobs because we were too young to get a Coast Guard pass.

I know some of my best memories are with my grandfather at work and on the farm.

Hi All,

Well, I went and looked at the tractor today.
As I suspected it is not a C or Super C.

It turned out to be a 1946 A model.
All in all not too bad of shape.

Engine has been overhauled but was missing the complete charging system.(gen, voltage reg)
Also, the front engine mount on the left side had been welded where a crack must have been.

After a little talking he came down to $ 1250.

I think I'm going to pass on it, I have too many projects at this time.
