Ford question
Does anyone have information on the original rear tire and wheel sizes for a 1957 Ford 841 Powermaster? Also, were the rims painted silver? Thanks.

Re: Ford question
Thanks SONNY,
I have verfied that the tires were 12" x 28", and the rims were originally zinc with grey centers. But I still can't find the rim size. My tractor came with two different size rear rims, and I dont' know which one, if any, is correct.

Re: Ford question
According to the data I have, the rears were 12-28 on a W10-28 rim. Looks like the model 821 used the same tire on a W9-28 rim. Maybe you have one rim from a 821. 9 seems awful narrow it me, even for back then.

Re: Ford question
My father bought the tractor in 1974. It has the same wheels and tires that were on it when he bought it. Monday I took them to the tire shop. When they pulled the tires off there was an 11" Tisco replacement rim on one side ( it still had the labels inside the rim) and an older, rustier 10" rim on the other. I am going to end up buying two new rims, so I would like to get whatever size was on it originally. Someday I will put the original color scheme and decals back on it. Thanks.

Re: Ford question
Ford made a lot of nice handy tractors and of course lead the pack with the Ferguson 3 pt hitch system.
IHC made a quality machine and was leader of the pack.Let's keep them running,

Re: Ford question
I love that vintage Ford (nice one, by the way.) and was seriously considering one from an NAA up to an 800 series with a loader when I stumbled into a Cub (or two) with a loader. Those and Cockshutt's are very good looking tractors in my book, but I wanted the functionality of the three point hitch. And Fords are easier to find parts for.
If you get in a jam send me a PM and I will get the number of a retired Ford mechanic in NH that would have the info in his head.
Also a good tractor 'junkyard' would know/have what you need.

Re: Ford question
Here's how the new tires and rims look after sandblasting, priming, and painting the rear centers and all 52 fasteners. I finished it and drove it in the Memorial Day parade. Thanks for all your help.
