What company made this

Postby fodman » Sun Jan 25, 2009 1:27 am

i found this in a pine thicket on some land i bought while doing some clearing. it has some green pant left in a few places but not JD green.no name anywhere. it is all there and it still turns and the plunger goes back and fourth so i think it would still bale hay. also in old barn there i found three JD sulky plows, what i think is a stalk cutter, a hay rake, IH hay cutter, a planter, two row bottom plow, four drag harrows, one disc harrow. single trees, double trees, walk behind cultavators, plows and other stuff that i havent figuared out yet.i guess when they quit farming, anything that would fit they put in barn. i'm like a kid in a candy store.. i dont know if photos will post, having trouble getting them to workhttp://photos.cubfest.com/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=10678&pos=0

That's a great find! Check some of the cast flywheels closely. Many times there will be a logo cast into them. I'm not familiar with the old hay presses but it could be an IHC even though you see green paint.
Here's your photo:

There was a great article on hay presses in Nov./Dec. Red Power Magazine. Yours looks a little different, but may be a resource to find out more about it. Todd Markle did the article and welcomed feedback. farmallgray@aol.com , evening phone 814-422-7632
Hope this helps,
