John,
Yes, Schramm is still in business after about 108 years. They stopped making compressors in the mid 1980's, they make pneumatic drill rigs, very impressive machines, check out their web site http://www.schramminc.com/ .

Michael,

If I make it back that way I would love a tour of the factory, I do not ride motorcycle's but think seeing the factory would be great. Schramm might be donating their archives to the HCEA Museum, if that happens I will most likely make the trip back over. From where I live it is a 9 1/2 hour drive, I was pulling a 30 foot gooseneck trailer, so that slowed me down some. Thanks for the offer, Do you work there now?

Take care,
Jim

Thanks Michael, I don't know when but I will kept it in mind. I like to make side trips when I go someplace so it is good to have somebody know the area. Been to Steam Town in Scranton twice before, what a great place to visit.
Thanks again,
Jim

Been a busy summer and just ran across this post again. Did you have any luck in buying the compressor?

Tim:

I only know of one Scramm locally and a few others around the country. Harold would be the one to contact. If you want to go that route, send me an email and I will pass along the information to you.

Tim,
What parts are you looking for? I have a Schramm Pneumatractor, a crawler, and a WD-50 which is a smaller version of the 60 you are talking about.

I was checking the general availability of spares for these things. I have a chance to get another one cheap, and am trying to find a parts supplier. Can you supply unloader and discharge valves for these? The valve gaskekts and springs seem hard to find. thanks

February 2011 Farm Collector magazine (http://www.farmcollector.com) has an article on the Schramm Pneumatractor. Also a bit of history on Schramm and perhaps some contact information.

Jim,

I finnaly got the ok to get the compressor. Now all I need is time to go get it. both tires are flat and I have no idea if they will hold air long enough to tow it the 25 miles home. would you know what wheels might fit on this ? might be easier to go to a junk yard and get two wheels and tires

Hi, I was using my Schramm model 35 today and I think one of the springs on top of the compressor head collapsed ( discharge valve?). Any idea where to find parts for it? I'm not ready to take it apart until I can locate some parts. It still works good, but noticed a recent pressure drop and it is puffing some air back up through the air cleaner. A few years back, we re-ringed the motor 4-cylinder Winsconsin and noticed that the compressor side had smaller pistons. Is that normal or was something changed? Any help would be appreciated thanks,Bob

Bob, Give me a call, I should have the spring and disc for the discharge valves.
