I emailed Stephane again and I got this in return..
Just did a google and got a couple results but this is the only useful one so far:
Crawler Tractor Scrapbook Part Three by Richard H. Robinson exerpt on Plough Book Sales webpage.
Stephane, check it out..
I did a little playing with the pic and found out this:
Laurentide Beetle Tractor
Manufactured for
the Laurentide Equipment Co Ltd
Montreal Canada
Canadian Vickers Limited
Montreal Canada
Serial No 1008
Forward
1st Gear 1.69 MPH
2nd Gear 2.68 MPH
3rd Gear 4.41 MPH
Reverse
1st Gear 1.95 MPH
2nd Gear 3.04 MPH
3rd Gear 5.00 MPH
Canadian Vickers was a large company that could trace its roots back to the Vickers Shipbuilding Company in England. They built ships as well as aircraft, railroad equipment and I guess tractors as well.. I must do a search one day on Canadian Vickers..
As to where you can find an Owner's, Service or Part's Manual is just about anyones guess.. but I imagine the archives for Canadian Vickers in Montreal would be a good place to start..
I will get Em to translate this I think, as my French is no where good enough for that..

John
Canada didn't start converting from Imperial to metric measurements until the 1970s.
