Gravely Stump Grinder Test

Postby WKPoor » Sun May 07, 2006 8:53 pm

Well after all this time I finally got a moment to try out the stump grinder. It worked great!! I took out a stump about 16" across in about 45 minutes. Not bad at all. Chips were just a flyin. It will work you hard but what the heck, I'm not doing this for a living. All in all for the cost and convienence I highly recommend it. It actually performed better than the big commercial unit I rented last fall.

I fiddled with mine several weekends ago, it chewed up some softwood shrub stumps like they were butter on a summer day. The chips flew like schrapnel - taking pictures was out of the question! Gonna help a neighbor sometime soon with some wild cherry stumps in an open field. That should be some Kodak moments.

I was surprised to see how much wear occurred to the tool bit teeth. Still not a problem as they are cheap. I've got a spare set. Do you have the 15" or the 9". The one I bought was made just about 1 1/2 mi. from my house.
