murray lawn mower idle speed

Postby Clem » Mon May 01, 2006 11:17 am

I have a mower I am working on that starts but the rpms run way too high. I can move the idle speed easily and no dfference is made. I have also tightened down the governor speed adjustment screw as well as the carb adjustment screw with no change either. I can't seem to even stall the engine if I try by moving the idle speed to low and adjusting the governor screw. Any ideas?

thanks

not sure what you are considering too fast, but lawnmowers idle around 1100 to 1200 rpm, and run full speed around 3500 to 3600.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

When this starts it will run like the engine is going to burn up. My friend was mowing when it happened something must be loose somewhere.

The throttle linkage was not adjusted correctly. I came by a manual for the engine and fixed the problem.
