‘55 Willy’s Jeep tractor

Postby BigBill » Tue Dec 24, 2019 2:19 pm

This Willy’s I have owned for over 25 years now. Ongoing project. I purchased the wheel adapters to go from 5 1/2” bc to 4 1/2” bc fcub. This way I can mount either the fcub rim centers with ag tires or the 13.6 x 16.1 - turf 154 tires. I want a swamp buggy for plowing snow.?
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

It is all about traction, isn't it ? Narrower aggressive tread imparts more surface pressure per inch than wider ones. I think part of the benefits the older military Jeeps had, was the tires were narrow but the tread extended around them. They were getting at grip both sides and the middle. Turf tires can't do that without chains but either way, I wish it works well for you.
