Lowell,
Maybe show some of your JD mods that you had in the past. They were some cool machines.

Can do! I grew up (literally) on this 1958 JD 720D ES: Dad bought it new as a "leftover" in 1959. I brought it home after he passed away & Mom was ready to move to town. I also had a 1958 520 that I bought when we bought our current house 35+ years ago, used them both for parades & shows:
I then got started collecting JD lawn & garden tractors, starting with a 1969 140 H1: Later putting on a Johnson #12 loader: Next was a 65-110:
More later!

Re: My Other Tractors
Guys, Lowell also does a trail ride with L&G tractors every fall, I believe. Here is a link to last's falls ride:
http://www.wfmachines.com/forums/showth ... h-Missouri)-September-9th-2017!
Lowell may be new to IH and Cubs, but he's no stranger on the JD sites, including WFM and Green Tractor Talk. He also does some amazing custom work that he did on some JD L&G tractors. Here is a John Deere 70 lawn tractor that he did a custom job on:

If you scrolled on down to post 6 in the below link, you will see what he did with a John Deere 60 lawn tractor by turning it into a miniature L or 62:

Re: My Other Tractors
Thanks T-MO!
After the 65-110, I picked up a 67-112 off ebay, knowing the engine wasn't correct: That's when I got started on some modifications:
Next came the flat fendered tractors, 71-110: And 74-112:
Later, I wanted something bigger, came up with a 420:

Re: My Other Tractors
My "customs" were all from tractors that were in bad shape to start with!
Here's the L/60 Custom:
I built the 317 Special strictly for parade use, form this:
To this: I used to make several area parades, but it just got to be too much work!
This was a one-time parade lineup for our local fair parade, just over 70' long:

Re: My Other Tractors
You've got quite an addiction there Lowell!!... I see I'm not the only one that like John Deere garden tractors. I've got a 160 that my parents bought for my wife and I for a wedding present. I also have dads 210 that he purchased new. I got it after he passed away last year. In addition I have a 1966 110, a 112 square fender and a 425. My mowing tractor is a 335.
The hoods are up because they all have battery maintainers on them...

Re: My Other Tractors
Ricky, sounds like you bleed green, as well as red, also. My first garden tractor was a 1978 John Deere 214. I also picked up another 214 a few years back and traded it off. I picked up a free 210 that had a busted axle housing. I repaired it and sold it. Currently I may get my brother's 210 from him. He owes me money and it's just sitting there. Overall I had several green garden tractors, ranging from a 111 to a 430. Now I have an X320, a 717 zero turn, and a 425 as my Deere machines. I have several Wheel Horses, and of course, the '47 Cub.
