graham bradley sides

Hello ,

I was going through old pictures of the farm with my cousin and found one of my grandfather on a brand new 1938 Graham Bradley tractor which he purchased from Sears. My dad took over the farm from him in 1956 and he traded it off for a John Deere 3010 in 1964 I believe. We showed him the picture and he said yeah I have both sides from it still in the barn! They took them off because the tractor got too hot with them on. I haven't done a lot of research yet but I thought I read somewhere that only 2200 tractors were made? If that is true I would think they are somewhat rare- but then again maybe too rare to be worth anything...?

Any thoughts on these, info, or ball park price on what they may be worth would be greatly appreciated. They are in great shape with the emblems.

After seeing Don McCombs ask the same question twice ... I figured I could bring my post around again.

Anybody familiar with Graham Bradley tractors out there? Just looking for any info you might provide, or where to go to get some.

I realise that I am a bit behind this post, but those side curtains are hard to come by. There is a whole community that revolves around those tractors. My family has two and we are in need of a set of those side curtains. Very cool that you have an original set from your grandfather being the original owner.

Gumby5369 , thanks for the response. Hard to believe my post is over 2 years old already. Since then my cousin and I decided to each keep one of the sides as a remembrance of grandpa and the farm. It is nice to hear they are in demand however. There is a really nice Graham Bradley coming up on the Mecum auction in Davenport on Nov 9-11. Would love to go to that one.

My husband is restoring a graham bradley as well. Is there any way I can sway you and your cousin to part with the side curtains? They are the last original part we need. Please reconsider!

I had never heard of or seen a pic of one of these before today, thats a very stylish tractor, has a lil art deco goin on there! I love this forum that opens my eyes to not just cubs but other cool tractors from the past.

Maggie1... I've still been on the search. It's also our last needle in the haystack. Have you considered buying the new side panels? A man makes them along with a few other parys. They run about $1600 for the set. We have been trying to find originals.

I have considered. We have been in touch with the president of the club regarding other parts. I was just reaching at any straw I could to find side panels. I wanna try to keep tractor as original as possible. Thanks for the input.

Just my opinion here,---BUT the original/good condition sides would be way better than aftermarket stuff!!---NOW before you all get upset at me,---I have NOTHING at all against repro. parts, In fact I really do commend these guys that have set up to do this type of work!!! ---I would have loved to do something like that myself!!!

I agree, it's always best to go back to original parts. That's why we haven't bought the new ones yet. I'm really hoping it doesnt.come down to that but we just can not catch a break in finding them. I have seen the new ones and they are of very good quality. I also commend everyone that takes the time to reproduce parts out of their homes. I know the president of the Graham Bradley club makes quite a few parts himself. We actually bought some knobs and a steering wheel from him. Though my family restores a ton of tractors, we try to keep them as original as possible.

Maggie 1, as much as I feel your desperate need for these the sentimental value to us is just too great. We got more stories this summer from the Aunt married to grandpas youngest son, who drove the tractor on the farm growing up. She remembered how they would take it down the road and pass cars that were driving too slow!

I truly hope you find a set to complete your tractor .
