Lift belongs to?

Postby RanchsA » Thu Feb 23, 2017 8:33 pm

Just wondering if anyone recognizes what this lift belongs to? Seller wasn't sure said it came with a bunch of things for a cub.

Assuming you recognize the Cub stuff, here is the rest. The bar leaning up in the corner looks like the cross bar for a Super A swinging drawbar (can't see quite well enough). The rest of the parts are for an A Plow. I spent a bunch of time last year looking for those A plow parts, finally gave up. I suspect the current A owner could use them.

I'll be picking up the lift this afternoon. I don't have a cub. is there a manual I could be pointed to that would help me identify which piece is which? Looks like I'll have some spare parts laying around if some is for the cub. Kind of makes me wish I would have bought the mounted plow for the A I saw last year but let pass because I was afraid I wouldn't find these.

Well I ended up getting the lift and found the mounted plow in an older listing off of Craigslist. I think I have all of the pieces now. Once I split and replace the leaking rear main (never soaked before install last spring when I rebuilt. :headbang ) I'll get this plow mounted.

Are you talking about "soaking" the Throwout Bearing? As far as I know, the SEAL requires no soaking. Did you get your new seal through tst (forum member, Tim Talleur), who machines out the retainer, then inserts a larger seal? If you just buy a "replacement" seal, they are not a tight fit and spin in the retainer, leaking right away.

I believe he is talking about the rear main seal on a Farmall A. It is a felt seal and needs to be saturated with motor oil.

Yep sorry for the A. I wasn't sure what the lift was for initially so I posted in the other section. Thanks again for all of you help. Jim you wouldn't happen to be able to ID which model plow that is exactly or give me some tips on the differences. I was going to try and find a manual for it. In an earlier post I found you had mentioned there were 3 possible models for the A. A91, A92 and A192 if I remember right?
Thanks again randy

Can't be sure, but to me it looks most like an A-192. This assumes it isn't mix-n-match of several.

Would the manual be similar enough between the 3 to just get the manual for the 192? I haven't had much luck finding a free copy hunting the web so will probably just end up buying one. The 192 seems to be the one that pops in searches vs the others.

Fairly similar, you should be able to figure out the differences.
