Portland 2016

Postby Barnyard » Wed Aug 31, 2016 12:00 pm

Gary Dotson and Steve Butram have been trying to get me to go to the Tri-state Engine and Tractor Association's show in Portland Indiana for several years. Because of my deep roots in an off road race the same weekend I had to say no. This year I decided I had enough of working the four wheeling race so Rosie and I could go with Gary and Steve. I have to say it was way better than I imagined. Rosie spent the week with Jackie Butram & Regina Dotson, while I hung out with Steve and Gary. Those two families are terrific hosts and guides. The event was perfect being around them.

This year IH was the featured tractor so there were tons of them. The swap meet area had 20 some rows and probably over 40 vendors per row. We spent a lot of time touring those rows as well as having a few pints (not cups) of ice cream. Plenty of other vendors, lots of food choices and watching the oil field pump engines at night were a real treat.

Needless to say, it is on our 2017 calendar.

As soon as we got there Gary and Steve helped us get unloaded and put our trailer in the storage lot.

I wish I would have gotten a forum group shot when we had Gary, you, Steve, Denny, Larry, Roger and our wives together for the dinner.
