Pittsburgh Field Trip Minifest

Hey all you Pittsburgh area cub folks...

I've been talking back and forth with a couple Cub Folks, and was thinking about a minifest. In talking with one member from Virginia, he is planning a trip to western PA the weekend of November 17, and an idea was born.

Thinking of having a field trip to Burgh's in Zelienople, PA in the morning of the 17th and then finding a place to hang out after for any little 'projects' that we could think of. I may demo how to rebuild a touch control using Lewis' unit (which needs rebuilding)...

Anyway, is there interest in other folks coming to meet us in Zelie on 11-17?

I might be able to make that.
It's my babysit the new guy at work even though I'm officially that day.

What time would you be getting together. And where?

Well... details are still "up in the air" but Burgh's opens at 8:00. I was thinking maybe meeting for coffee before hand and then heading over...

Cubota has offered to have us over to his garage to look over "greasy" and help him decide where to spend more money on him, so that would be fun, too!

Here is the website for Burgh's

More info to come!

Hi all...

Some more details for anyone interested.

Planning to meet for breakfast at 8:00AM
Kountry Kitchen
111 S. Main Street
Zelienople, PA

Then on to Burgh's Implements at 9:15 - 9:30
657 Perry Highway
Harmony, PA

After Burgh's, Fred (Cubota) has graciously invited us over to his place nearby. I am going to be bringing my Touch Control and Hydraulic Pump from the 1955 Cub (Lewis) to rebuild as a demonstration to any who want to watch. If there are any other minor things that others have to look at, we can do that while we are there. We can do a pizza lunch if everyone is interested at that point.

Hope folks from the area (and beyond) can make it. Trying to keep it low-key and just shoot the bull with some like-minded cubbers.

If you are interested in coming, I'll look for a head-count sometime closer to the day so that I can let the diner restaurant know how many to expect.

Hope to see you in the hallowed grounds of Burgh's in TWO WEEKS!! (11-17-12) (corrected)

I think I should be able to make it. Also it is very interesting and fun to walk through the whole place and just look at all of the different tractors there.

Just wanted to let folks know that I also have a Carb flattening jig that I can bring along if folks want to do any carb work on the 17th, too. Any other small projects would be welcome, too.

I finally found this thread!

Looking forward to meeting you all and seeing Mike again.
Hopefully, I can get out of work in time to take a little nap before coming

How long do you think you'll be at Burgh's in case I miss you at breakfast?

Hi Larry. I think we'll be there at least an hour or so... I was figuring on Breakfast at 8:00 at the Kountry Kitchen and then heading over to Burgh's at 9:00 or so. I was told that there are about 50 acres of tractors to look through. They told me that we could remove whatever we wanted to with our own tools (and pay for them of course) but also that they could help remove parts if we needed them to. I am liking this place already even though I have never been there.

I think it is time to think about a head-count... Please reply to this thread and let me know the following:

1. You are attending.
2. How many will be there.
3. If you have any parts that you might need to have repaired.

I removed my TC from the '55 and will clean it up a BUNCH before we get together.

Looking forward to it!!

If you've never been to Burgh's, you don't know what you're missing
Unless they've changed, there are a lot of tractors they won't let you take parts off of.
Same with some implements

But, I'll bring a few tools in case they'll let me have a shifter.

I'll get there as early as I can.
Lately, I haven't been getting off work until @ 3:30 AM

Looking forward to seeing you again, Mike
