Postby Corky's Cub » Thu Oct 04, 2012 10:55 pm

Hey Guys and Ms's,

Seems ole Corky's got a special surprise item to be put up for auction at Kodiak's Stonethrow VII !!

While Jason was diggin through my shop yesterday to wade through my mess and bring out my LoBoy Mr. Harold and his '48 Pappy to bring over to Kodiak's for StoneThrow VII weekend celebration, he uncovered a REAL GEM that I forgot was even hiding under that dusty ole tarp!!!
:bellylaugh:

What could it be?? Is it?? Wow!! It is!!! WHAT IS IT??? For that you're gonna hafta wait till I get it loaded and over to Ron's on Friday morning!! Details, process and rules -- along with pictures!! to follow!!!

Nite-nite all!!

Corky :{_}:
I found this old Cub, Forgotten and Forlorn,
With pistons and valves frozen and worn.
Help from my buddies on Farmallcub.com,
And an engine from Ralph, (37’s the one),
Now ole Corky is running and back to life,
Much to the surprise of my dear, dear wife!

I'll be waiting Corky and checking back often...
I've got a few cell numbers so I can do a little online bidding.

Yogie, just to let you know how much we all I like you, I will help Jim win this for you. I too, will be bidding for you. With Jim and I both bidding for you there is no reason you shouldn't win this one. :D

So does that mean you "might" not be selling this?

Sorry for the delay folks--we had no internet access at Ron's shop today, but all had so much fun at Kodiak's and so many cubs got worked on, we ran out of time to get this posted earlier!

Here's the surprise item we're going to try to auction: a super 1949 Cub that many of you will recognize----with unique mini-ag tires on front, and years of work and restoration by one of our best former forum leaders, Donny Millar!

I'll try to get pictures posted in the morning. We're going to try and hold the auction at 4pm Eastern time, and will try to take auction bids both online and live at StoneThrow! If that doesn't work out, we'll figure something out, but take a look and we'll get those pictures up as soon as possible.

Thanks to Kodiak and family for a great StoneThrow first day, and good night!

Okay folks, here are the rules for the auction.

Will open for questions between now at 3:30pm eastern, and start taking bids both here at StoneThrow and online at 3:30pm eastern. The tractor is being sold as-is, and where-is; in other words, available for pickup either here at Kodiak's today, or at my place in Athens, GA after 5pm today. The Karry-All you see mounted to the tractor in the pictures above is NOT included; but otherwise, what you see is what you get. Those here at StoneThrow have been taking it for test-drives, and I'll see if I can get Andrew Spivey to post a video with audio of the tractor running. But suffice to say, it runs great!

So...let the questions begin!

Hey again folks,

Just to let you know...this tractor has been sitting untouched in my shop for two years, and started for the first time yesterday. It's sputtering pretty bad, and the fuel system is pretty dirty, but will clean up. Anyone have any questions? Pipe in, and thanks!

Where's Mr. E when you need him. Give him a call so he can get in on this while he's on the road. He was a VERY active bidder at the Willer auction today and I think he still has some money left. 8)
