Rudi, That looks like it was a nice showing. It took me a minute to figure out what the display of hay trolleys was. Thanks for posting. Our Yesteryear Farm Show is this weekend and hopefully Raymond will be up with his camera.

Thanks Rudi for posting those pictures. Especially the detailed pics of the Henderson loader. One day I'll get Dads put back together. His was a slightly earlier model I believe. Scot

Bob:
K, thanks, I wasn't sure what they were. Now I know what Hay Trolleys look like
Scot:
When I saw this one, I knew that a few of our members had one similar so I took as many pics as I could before I got too wet

I too did a double take on the hay trollys. I didn't know they were collectible but I guess anything is. Rudi, may I borrow your thread a minute? I kept the trolly and forks from dad's barn when it was torn down. I really can't remember it but it was my "job" to ride the horse pulling the lift rope. Of course the horse knew what to do so it was more of a means of keeping me away from the real work.

The trolly and a short piece of the rail it ran on. The rail was made of 2 2x4's one on top of the other. I just realized I have this upsidedown and don't know how to turn it!

A grappling type of hay fork.

A stabbing type of hay fork.
There was also a sling used. This had to be placed on the wagon before loading. I have never seen one.
While I can give an overview of how these worked I have no detailed knowledge.

Steal away

I just learned a few more things. Even though Gram and Gramps had a farm, it was a hard scrabble farm, didn't have much in the way of modern conveniences like a barn

so there is some huge gaps in my KB, but I am learning.

I was going to remove part of my post because I had started a new one in Off Topic, Loose Hay. But will leave. Vern
