Southern IL cub workshop - 9/8/12

Postby cub47 » Sun Aug 19, 2012 10:34 pm

Have a repair, rebuild, or tuneup you need to complete on your Cub or Cub Loboy tractor? Need help installing or setting up an implement? Just want to talk Cubs?

I am putting together a little cub workshop and gathering to be held on September 8, 2012 at my farm and shop in Staunton, IL (40 minutes north of St. Louis, MO----right off of Interstate 55)

Bring your tractor and items on over and I'm sure there will be enough fellow cub enthusiasts willing to lend a hand. I have numerous used parts in my shop and also have an inventory of tune-up components, gaskets, bearings, etc., should someone have any specific needs. My machine shop is fully equipped and has ample room for several tractors. There is plowable ground available for demonstrations also.

Date: September 8, 2012

Time: 8:00 a.m. until ??

Location:

Questions?: Call or private message me from this forum
Lunch and refreshments will be served.

Restrooms on site.

No need to RSVP. This will be an informal gathering, relax, and have some fun!

It is close enough for me to make a day trip, so I plan to come if I can.

Here are some detailed directions to get folks to my shop next weekend. I will also have signs along this route once you get off of I-55 to get you going in the right direction.

Please call me at 618-670-5427 if you have any additional questions.

The shop address is:

Take Interstate 55 until you come to Exit #44 (about 40 minutes from downtown STL). Take Exit #44. Turn west on Route 138, and turn left on the first road you come to (you will see a "White City" town sign), this is Main St. Go through 1 stop sign, and the next intersection you will come to will be Fourth St., turn right here. Set your trip odometer and stay on this road for almost exactly 2 miles, you will go around several curves and up and down hills and over a bridge. At the 2 mile point you will see a black top driveway on your right, it is at the bottom of a small hill. Turn right here, as you go up the driveway you will see a lake and 3 large pole buildings off to your left, you won't be able to miss all of the cub tractors sitting out.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, thanks.

Brian

Think you might have room for one more? I don't have anything to work on, but can lend a hand with others stuff.

Definitely Raymond, you and anyone else are always welcome. We should have plenty of cub projects to work on. Hope to see you Sat.!

The weather forecast is looking good, a high of 71 and no rain, should be a great day to work on some cubs!

John, I would pull #4 up on your trailer with #6, then you can have them both loaded. If you have an implement on #4 and the hydraulics are not working, release the mounting point at the hydraulic arm and use a ratchet strap around the tractor chassis to elevate the implement off of the ground, just long enough to clear the ground and ease the loading process.

Ignition scope and NASA satellite locator all in one! 8) Seriously though John, thank you for bringing your tools along and giving us a quick tutorial on the use of them.

Very nice meeting you Raymond and Ron. Glad John and Doc could make it as well.

Hope everyone had a good time, will try for another get together next year.
