If anyone bought brake re-lining kits from Bob McCarty, I can help install them. Can bring the rivet driver/punch and tools to install new linings on your old brake bands. There's time if you want to order any more from Bob (that's if Bob is still taking orders???), otherwise, you can get the info from the How-To forum and order the parts yourself from McMaster-Carr:

and/or

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=68062&hilit=+brake

Let me know beforehand so I can bring it.

Ron--I'm kinda new to this too. Don't know if others advertise a CubFest outside the forum or not. I'll check to see if I have any projects that need to be done.

Ron,

You set a date and location, so you've done the hard part!

We have never advertised off the forum for Kansas Cubfest, but we have personally invited local folks that we knew would enjoy the day. Most of them aren't Cub owners, but they like old tractors and visiting with other tractor owners. In many ways, Kansas Cubfest is more of a social event rather than centered around a lot of projects. We usually get few projects done, but we spread a lot of BS as well.

That being said, it is your Cubfest so do it the way you want! You will do great!!!!

I don't know if I'll be able to come, but I'm keeping the date open.

Should I be putting flyers out in near by towns to let the locals know about this?? Maybe the news paper? What do I need to do to promote the fest.

Ron, if you promote it to your town you may get more than you bargained for. I started getting email from folks that had attended one of the local tractor shows. These guys were wanting to bring every type tractor you could think of. I had to do a lot of explaining as to what a Cubfest was. if you plan to have food, you will have all the hubngry folks from miles around.

I think you will be fine the way it is. There are a lot of guys on the forum who will be there. Once you have your first Cubfest, the word around the forum will spread. You may have ten or you may have thirty this year, but whatever the count is, it will be a success. A lot depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

If your goal is to have one big block party, then yeah, you can post the flyers.

Looking like a good bunch of people are going to show up. If it gets a little slow, maybe Stanton can give a power point on removing paint from a radiator (a post at a time) .

I have a pressurized sand blaster that will remove paint from a radiator. Of course it will remove part of the radiator also.
