DSCF 2012

Postby Mr E » Sun Feb 19, 2012 2:53 pm

Just wanted to take this opportunity to express our Thanks to everyone that attended DSCF this year! What a great time we had this weekend. What a turnout!! You just can't beat spending a weekend with this many of the finest folks on the planet.

I want to say a big "Thank you" to everyone that helped prepare food, did mechanic work on tractors, helped entertain our guest or helped us run errands. You guys are wonderful.

Me and the Jimdawg just got in. Perfect flight. And it appears that son Andy enjoyed the fest too and by the time we got him home, he was searching craigslist for a Cub. We had a wonderful time. Thank you for the Southern hospitality- you guys are great !!!!

I want to also thank to Raymond Durbin, he was also a host this weekend but I have not seen his name mentioned yet.

Rosie and I just pulled in a few minutes ago. We left at 3:00 am central time with nice warm weather, a little rainy but warm. Had to take the detour on I-65 like everyone else. We took the 20 mile truck detour instead of the shorter car detour because we didn't know what to expect. By the time we hit the Tennessee border we were almost in a blizzard. It was a slow go with 32 degree temps. Once we wereat the Ky border it dried up and warmed up and we werre pushing the speedo needle again.

We had a great time, as always. It sure was a pleasure to shake hands with a lot of members I have never met. Thanks to all the folks mentioned above who put this great event on.

The DSCF crew you folks did a GREAT job. We just got in. Went through rain, snow, rain, wind, but we made it home safe. A local stopped to tell us when we were getting gas how to cut off 19 miles for the detour. Man did that help. We found out the have a very & I mean very large sink hole beside the Interstate. Its going to be closed for a while. I didnt get any pictures because to much traffic.

I am so sorry that I failed to mention Raymond Durbin in my earlier post. Just blame it on my "old person" memory. I actually spent more time hanging around him than the other hosts.

What a great fine young man. Not to mention that I am so impressed with his complete knowledge of cubs, but on top of that, he is a super friendly, helpful and decent young man. Good luck to you, Raymond.

No wonder you guys caught up with us. You tag teamed on the driving. I had to do the whole 13 hour drive by myself. I need to pry these toothpicks out of my eyes.

No problem at all! Please don't worry about it! I do appreciate the well wishes!
I only played a small role getting to play in the shop with other peoples tractors! The real work was taken care of by Roy, BillyRay, Tim and Jim. I really had a great weekend, and it was great to see everybody again. Glad everyone had a good weekend and appreciate their time to make the trip and for their part for what DSCF has turned into!!
Looking forward to seeing everybody again next year!! :D
