Yesterday was the Mike's Farm tractor show at Back Swamp, NC. ( http://www.mikesfarm.com) This show is about 10 miles from my house and probably my favorite old tractor event of the year. I coordinate the tractor games for him, and then we usually conclude with a hayride/tractor ride through his hayride trails. We had some Cub Cadets (and a Wheelhorse or two) Mike does hayrides (including his HUGE nighttime Christmas hayrides) with a fleet of H's and M's There was a good mix of tractors there, though I had the only Farmall Cub.... Notice what the folks are riding in on that Farmall 100. This was the sweetest running Farmall A-series tractor I had ever seen. The owner has tuned and balanced it to the point you can count the fan blades when it's idling! During the slow tractor race it was running so slow you couldn't hear it--a stealth tractor! Pumpkin enjoyed my homemade ice cream leftovers when I got home I usually have plenty of help loading and unloading at home Midnight wanted to back the trailer but he couldn't use the mirrors and work the pedals at the same time...

IH's are RED. Just say NO to yellow and white!
Let us pray for farmers and all who prepare the soil for planting, that the seeds they sow may lead to a bountiful harvest.

A lot of the locals thought Mike and his wife were crazy when they quit their jobs and started the farm. They started out growing Christmas trees and later pick your own strawberries. Somewhere in there they added a gift shop, then a bakery, and finally a restaurant and banquet room. It is a really neat place, with something cool going on all the time. The restaurant is delicious, almost as much as the 10-layer chocolate cakes their bakery turns out. They must have a million Christmas lights in those woods, it really is pretty. Plus Mike likes Farmalls! I need to get a picture of his Cub "yard art" in front of the bakery sometime.
Dusti, yes David and Wayne had the H and the Super H there....I still can't get over that 100 though. I have NEVER seen a Farmall run that slow and that smooth. Plus with the one arm loader on it, it was a real conversation piece.
