Its getting closer :!: We have some intresting projects already on the board but still have room for some more! Things are getting busy around here so don't miss out on all the fun, bring the family and come on over to Gillsville.
Possibily a bit of sad news after 18 years there is the possibility that the Turning & Burning won't be held this year :( I will check with Chester next week to confirm if this is true or not. But there is still supposed to be the downtown pottery festival, which has plenty of local potters involved. More to come......

Bob, I believe the parade is part of the Festival and not related to the Turn and Burn so the chances are that will go on. Regardless, I will also be there. Clowns suits are optional.

Bill and Bob,

Great to see you'll be there parade or not Bob! And Bill, we won't need to bring Clown suits...as long as all us clowns show up!

Kodiak, looks like I may hve to put ole Corky's Cub on the project list this year.

After running perfect all year, the ole boy started leaking antifreeze out of the overflow tube, and now he won't start at all. :big give up:

I've got a head gasket, an oil pan gasket, and (I think) a radiator gasket, so at least we'll take her apart and see what we can find.

Looking forward to it!!!

I hope I didn't confuse anyone in my earlier post about the "Turning & Burning". The best info I have at the current time is that the Turning & Burning has been cancled but the pottery will still be open their regular hours that Saturday. The Maysville Festival is a go as usual (this is where the parade is) so things there will as always :D The Turning & Burning was held for some 18 years and it looks like it is a casulity of the economic times :( The Maysville Festival has been going on for I think 34 or 35 years  So if you were planning on riding in the parade load up the Cub and come on down !
We have several good projects lined up and I'm sure there will be lots of others that will get done that weekend. If the weather holds it will be like the last 4 years cool in the morning warming nicely by mid day. Looking foward to a Great weekend in about 3 weeks :{_}:

Ron, Rosie and I will be leaving Wednesday afternoon and stopping somewhere in Tennesse for the night. We will be at your place some time around eleven Tursday morning. We will plan out departure from Tennesee to avoid the Atlanta 500, I mean the Atlanta morning rush hour traffic.

Just out of curiosity, how long does it take to get from I-75 to Commerce during rush hour and what time does the traffic start getting bad?.

Also, what is the parade theme this year. I want to be sure I don't stand out by not dressing the part.

Bill,
The Atlanta rush hour last from about 7 am till about 8 pm  It kinda lets up around 9am and gets heavy again around 3/3:00 but on Friday all bets are off

Travel time: I assume you mean from I-75 around I-285 to I-85 north to Commerce exit? During rush hour(s) probably around 3/3 1/2 hours if its a normal rush hour  Non rush hour hour and a half.

Should have parade info Monday, will post a update then.

Well, with those kind of travel times, I reckon we will roll in just before noon Thursday. See you all there.
