18th Annual Cub-Arama

Postby T-Mo » Wed Sep 18, 2019 10:03 am

Cub-Arama is coming up next weekend, September 27 and 28, Friday and Saturday, with Thursday, the 26th as set up day. For those who don't know, it's in Fredricktown, Missouri. Here are some links:

This year marks the 18th annual show.

How many are going this year? Let's see a show of hands. I'm hoping for a good turn out, close to what we seen a few years ago.

No one else is going? I know John is, but I would have thought a few more here might make it. I know a few others will attend, but I'm hoping for a good, if not great, turnout this year.

Hope to make it, but still working full time then some. Have a local show and parade to get ready for the next weekend, Oct 5. If the weather cools down and I can get time away from work to work on my tractors then the better half and I will be there on Saturday.

For security reasons, many people who go do not advertise they will be away from home. That is a smart move these days. The only time I tell anyone I am going away is when I have a house sitter.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

As mentioned in a PM with another member, the reason why I'm asking is I see the many responses on the various Cub-Fests on who's going, but it seems to be a lack of responses for this event. For some of the various Cub-Fests, there are several pages of replies on who's going, who's looking forward to it, who's bringing what, etc. So, it would be nice to see some more responses for Cub-Arama.

BTW, I'm going. Weather looks a bit iffy for Saturday, with a chance of rain that morning. Thursday and Friday looks to be clear, though.

With the Cubfests hosted at someone's house, an attempt is made to know the attendance in order to have the right amount of food to serve.

...that, and a CubFest is an entirely different venue—not better or worse, just different.

I would encourage anyone with a Cub and an open calendar to attend the Cub-Arama. Great gathering and fun!

My wife stays home, so things are pretty secure. Nobody in their right mind messes with a retired Special Ed. teacher. Besides which I go home every night.

Latest weather forecast for Fredricktown now has no rain for all 3 days, with temps mainly in the 80s.

Yes, we don't need rain for this weekend - it can rain Sunday, if it must rain.

I will be bringing a plow with me to hopefully plow the garden spot south of the park. Can, or will, anyone bring a disc to work it down afterwards in case we want to work the ground some more?
