Loading up the last stuff for DSCF...and you?
DANG!! The last few days have been beautiful...temps in the 70's and sunny! Now it's cold again and overcast, but forcast is for rain tonight through Tuesday when I leave for Florida. SO, gotta get out and load RonT's "new" cub, so I don't have to do it in the rain later. At times I am such a whimp!!
Sure hope it starts up as easily as it did when Super A delivered it. Been on trickle charge the whole time.
Don't think the little guy will be happy in the rain...sorry! (Will make sure exhaust and seat are covered)
Photos to follow.

Re: Loading up the last stuff for DSCF...and you?
All done!! (I hope!) What took the most time was ensuring all the tie-downs were not rubbing anything...there are never enough tie-down points!!
Loaded, tied down and exhaust and air intakes covered (gonna rain tonight):
These may look small, but those suckers are heavy!
Just a few parts, supplies and tools:
WAS going to clean the sediment bowl...even had a container under it to catch the fuel. Then I thought about the gasket and whether it would seal again. My spare gaskets were already packed, and I DIDN'T feel like draining the tank. So...a small task for Ron at DSCF:
Hey Ron! Hope you have an oil pan gasket. At first I thought the leak was the rear seal, as is common. But when it was dripping on the trailer, I was going to put a "diaper" on it, and found the leak (I think) is coming from the oil pan. I don't like torqueing those bolts down too much, but did put a wrench on them to see if the leak would stop. May need to flatten the pan around the bolt holes...another small DSCF task!
"HEY WAIT A MINUTE!! I thought we were ready for the road trip!!"

Gonna miss all the fun.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: Loading up the last stuff for DSCF...and you?
I wasn't going anyways, but if I would have left yesterday morning, I probably be one of hundreds in the ditch since we got a grazing of freezing rain yesterday. It's raining now and temps in the mid 30s as I currently type this, with highs near 40 today. But predicted rain all day here. Now Wednesday and Thursday highs will be in the low to mid 50s, but accumulating snow Friday.
As for tie down points, I agree there never is enough and what the ones that are there, are usually in the wrong place. I put heavy duty eyebolts on a couple of trailers I sold, but I don't have any mods are the one I have now.

I actually bought a bagful of heavy duty d-ring tie downs about 5 years ago...not ONE has been installed!! Lazy?...procrastinator?...YEP! That's me!! Too much trouble to crawl under the trailer to drill the holes so the d-ring bracket straddles one of the metal frame pieces!
I could bring them down to DSCF if someone would volunteer to help me...???...

Since I can't be there and don't have to worry about volunteering, I say bring them down and see if anyone can be guilted into installing them.

Good morning all!
Connie and I just got home from our Dunnellon Farm Days show - Exhausted but what a great turnout.
Dale - thanks for being such a great foster parent to "Bessie". I have a pan gasket, rear seal and gasket and fuel bowl gasket and filter with me alone with materials to do a clutch job (not anticipated but it's the time to do it when split), materials to service it along with the tools needed.
We will be up around noon on Thursday - seeya there.

I'll be the Thursday, also. Bessie looks a bit bedraggled in the rain, but she's looking forward to her new home!!
