3rd Annual Mid Maine CubFest 2018

Postby Our Pass Thyme » Mon Jan 29, 2018 7:55 pm

Third Annual Mid Maine CubFest scheduled for Saturday, July 7th :tractor:

Will it rain for the third year in a row? Maybe, but that hasn't stopped us from having a good time. I hope you will be able to come once again, or for the first time, for an informal fest with a mid day lunch/BBQ featuring plenty of snacks and soft drinks. Riley will once again be making her famous chili and we will hopefully have new red potato salad, depending on the growing season. Feel free to bring a side dish or other food items if you wish.

This year, TM Tractors is scheduled to attend and may bring a few surprises. If you have some forethought, prior to the fest, you can place an order with TM Tractors and pick up your order here at the fest! Many thanks to them in advance!

This year's agenda will again be determined by the attendees and should feature small projects, swap or sale items, discussions, stories, demonstrations, even perhaps a parade around the "block" (about 4 miles) if there are enough Cubs in attendance and time.

While this Fest is only scheduled for one day, with enough interest, I can easily spread it out a bit as I will be "vacationing" before and after the event day.
I hope you can attend! RSVP appreciated. -Tom :hattip:

About us:

We are located in an agricultural area known locally as "Little Aroostook" where commercial potato and corn fields abound. We operate a roadside self-serve farm stand and sell mainly vegetables. We (me, my wife Stephany, 14 year old daughter Riley, 12 year old son Ricky) have lived here since 2002 and have been "growing" ever since. During the growing season, there are sometimes more tractors on our road than regular vehicular traffic.

Nearby amenities include a grocery/gas/Dunkin-Donuts; Advanced Auto Parts, Countryside Restaurant, That Pizza Place, Exeter Corner Store, Perkco Feed and Seed and Hardware; Crescent Lumber.

Within 25 miles is everything else, including major motels, hotels, bed and breakfasts, all the major restaurants and some local favorites, Big box stores, gas stations, camp grounds, etc. The major nearby towns include Bangor, Brewer, Dover-Foxcroft, Newport, Palmyra.

Directions: :lost:
Option 1) Easy to find if you have GPS - punch in 2516 Exeter Rd, Exeter ME.

Option 2) Coming from the South get on I-95 head North to the first Newport exit, Exit 157, turn left and stay straight through the traffic lights heading North out of town on Route 7 to Corinna, in Corinna, take the second right after the bridge turning onto Route 11/43 (careful there are two rights next to one another), stay East on Route 11/43 into Exeter, turn left at the first stop sign, and then right at the next stop sign at the Corner Store, 3.5 miles later park on the right, across from the Our Pass Thyme farm stand. In total, about 18 miles from I-95.

Option 3) From the North, travel to Route 15 and turn West on 11/43 at the double blinking lights in Corinth, travel 3.5 miles on the right.

Glad to see you persevering with the CubFest, Tom. Here's hoping that the 3rd time's a charm and it won't rain on you all.

Rain is becoming a tradition, but luckily it has not been a "soaker" so far. We can always hole up in the half acre 'shed' across the street!

I think the only way to make up for that comment is to show up at the Fest in person!

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

New member here. 1975 Cub that I inherited from my father. Any special protocol on attending the cubfest, or can I just show up?

No protocol, people usually start arriving at 7 AM and most others wander in by 9. I will be sending out a reminder post here soon. Hope to see you!

Who's coming and Update

Postby Our Pass Thyme » Tue Jun 26, 2018 7:51 am

Hi Everyone!
Sorry I have been absent on the forum but it has been a trying year so far to say the least.

The Fest is just around the corner and it is shaping up to be better than last year with TM Tractors coming once again! Please get your parts orders in with Ron and Rick at TM Tractors now and you can pick up your order at the Fest and save on the shipping! Rain may not be a stranger so be prepared, for some reason it likes the Fest, too.

There will be coffee & soft drinks and snacks throughout the day and a BBQ at noon with Riley's Famous Chili. Bring a camp chair or a tractor to sit on. Parking is across the street. Cubbers generally start arriving at 7AM...

Please feel free to reach out to me with any other ideas, questions, or concerns...
You can just show up, but if you get a chance, let me know your are coming to help me make sure I have what we need on hand....
-Tom :hattip:
