Re: Cyclone Spreader Restoration
Interesting. Perhaps that manufacturer used a serial number more like a model number.

That's what I'm wondering now, I can't find any information about these.

I did just find this ad for them from April 1963, it calls it an "S-3".

Re: Cyclone Spreader Restoration
With some products (maybe I should say some companies) a serial number isn't a unique number for each unit. It might be more correctly viewed as a batch number or date code. The same number may be applied to everything for a month or some such. They may change it with each production run, or maybe only when a design change is made. Hard to outguess what somebody's scheme was.

I found the article above and saw this spreader and recently found this one and bought it for $15. It must have lived in a basement most of it's life cause it's in really good shape.

I used to have one of those with a Sears label on it. Wore it out using it so much.

Re: Cyclone Spreader Restoration
I just found this today, but it's worth the wait! I can't say anything better than anybody else already has, but excellent work! Thanks for sharing! Thank you also for your inspiration, both in your work, and helping me realize that; If it casts a shadow, it might can't be restored, but it can be replicated
If nothing else, I'm good at being the bad example or a last resort

I happened upon an old satellite dish on the side of the road the other day and sharpied it and plasma cut it and bent 4 tabs down then welded 2 holes up and primer went on it. Now it'll keep the birds nest out.

Re: Cyclone Spreader Restoration
A man came by and liked the Cyclone I redid and the one the man gave me so they changed addresses
A good friend of mine bought this one in Portland several years ago so I messaged him about it and we did some trading. This one is NOS, never been used and looks great. Has all the hardware with it too. It’ll probably get a fast hitch prong soon.
