I bought a new front bumper for my 1953 CJ3B over a year ago and didn't put it on because one frame horn was bent up in the air. I talked to a local frame shop but they weren't sure if they could do it unless I brought it in. I've been fretting about the cost and hassle for some time.
Tonight I finally did what I should have done 11 years ago when I first acquired the Jeep. I removed the old bumper, attached an 8' lever to the frame horn, bounced on the end, and brought it into compliance in about 20 minutes. I think I deserve bonus points for using the dilapidated bumper as part of the lever. It is still a hair high on that side. There is a slight kink in the upper channel of the frame rail. I ordered a porto-power today and will use it to push the kink out once it arrives. I am thinking that once I do that, I'll get the frame horn to drop by that last little bit.
