Chain Mortiser in Action

Got a project that you are working on that is not a tractor? Maybe a barn to hold your tractors or just fun stuff like woodworking, glass, tools, sheds, gardens, custom implements, etc., this is the place to talk about it.

Chain Mortiser in Action

Postby PVF1799 » Mon Apr 21, 2014 8:30 am

After 30 years having to use a PO Box in our rural village we can finally have a mailbox at our driveway. I wanted a custom made post using timber frame joinery with wooden pegs. On Saturday Tim set about making the post. Thought I would share this very net tool in action. I should note he knows full well how to make them with just chisel and mallet..... :D

Hope you enjoy this little video.

With that kind of joinery you new mail box post should last the test of time. That is until the town or state plow gives it a test next winter.

What a neat tool! I'd use that instead the chisel & mallet any day!
