Bob, it is made from 40 year old air dried black walnut, some of my favorite because of some of the almost purple tones to the wood----only found in the old growth type 8)

As a former carpenter / joiner I have to admire and applaud the workmanship that went that beautiful work Definitely a very professional job :big afro:

As usual very nice work. I like the raised panels in the fireplace surround and mantel. Lots of work there. Nicely done and well balanced. The libraries are sleek as well. Not much can compare to old growth black walnut in tone and colour- exceptional warmth from the wood and the figure can be very striking.

You can be proud of your work, it is outstanding. I see there is one shelf open, is that for a toy cub or two or three?
