cleaning a power unit fuel tank

Got a project that you are working on that is not a tractor? Maybe a barn to hold your tractors or just fun stuff like woodworking, glass, tools, sheds, gardens, custom implements, etc., this is the place to talk about it.

cleaning a power unit fuel tank

Postby ScottyD'sdad » Sat Mar 03, 2012 7:44 am

I am cleaning up a power unit, to operate my corn grinder. The fuel tank was rusty, I sandblasted the interior, with a hand held blaster. Was able to fit a shop vac hose inside, to clean out the grit and loosened rust. (No baffles, in the PU tank.) Acid bath, followed by Redkote, and it will be ready for another 60 years of service. Ed
