what type of part did you have in mind on trying to cast?

Re: Home Metal CastingMy understanding is that you will have to make your own pattern a bit over size for there is about 8% shrinkage as the casting solidify s and cools. This means that to get the same weight you can't use an original. This shrinkage will probably affect the mounting hole spacing too. If doing it for yourself a little trial and error will get er done.

Re: Home Metal CastingWe need an original to make a pattern from and go from there. A Clay mold of the original to make a new oversize pattern with a pantograph like they do with coins?
