Well there certainly are some nice chunks in there. Make great turning blanks and such. Course -- will also provide a lot of heat for the winter and that is important. But yeah... that is enough to make it happen

The big kitchrn drop is going quite well. I contacted a former partner of mine who I worked with at the Umass carpenter shop about 15 yrs ago and he agreed to give me a hand. He is quite a craftman I in my years with him I learned a great deal. As we were chatting tonight while we worked he mentioned selling his cub. He thinks it is a 49, I saw the tractor years ago, the tins are in good shape it is always been stored inside and has a sickle bar and a snow plow. Well as he left we made a deal and I will head up to his place to pick it up in the next wek or so. As for the kitchen, things went well and we have 4 or 5 more hours and it will be set for the granite.

Good work Joe, that is a great way to find one. You just never know when you'll come across a Cub. Some times they pop up when you least expect it. I ended up with one after sitting around a campfire at a race one night. I had known the owner for quite a while but neither of us knew the other owned a Cub. He happened to mention he had a tractor he was going to scrap that week and the rest fell into place. Turned out to be a nice one.

I know that you probably have finished this project, but I wanted to know where you got your granite. Since you are doing it yourself, I am assuming you bought it directly from a supplier. I am a fairly good handyman, but counters scare me, especially with the cost of granite. Is it possible to purchase through a cabinet installer and still get the same quality? I am in need of some local help. Can anyone recommend an Indianapolis countertop installation contractor?

Very nice and something I would love to see in person. First thing I noticed is that you were able to succeed where many designers today mess up. You have a large open workspace with the butcher block table and that is really important. Too many designers today like to break up counter top space leaving tiny sections of counter to work on which usually end up being storage areas for cookie jars and such. Having a large open work space is vital to anyone who actually cooks/bakes/grills in a kitchen. You nailed it right there. The work triangle looks about perfect too

Very nice job. You should be very proud of the remodel. The cabinets look top notch as well. Well executed. Definitely professional grade

Joe I know where you are coming from. Back in 2001 I finished a consulting job the end of November. I was so happy to be done that I was blindsided when Bev said that evening that she would have a new kitchen for Christmas or she would not cook. Needless to say it was completed on December 23. It was a strip to the studs and joists job. Busiest 3 1/2 weeks in my life. I knew she meant it and i felt she was justified to demand so.

Rudi I have to give the layout credit to a kitchen designer we used. The cabinets are solid oak sides shelve everything.

I am planning to remodel my kitchen and want some good kitchen cabinet designs and dark color cabinets. Also i want a dark color granite counter tops.
