TRACTOR RELATED QUESTIONS
-------------------------
Tractors and models owned
4 Demo Cubs, 2 restored. One in pieces, one in the wings waiting its turn.
1 lo boy, 59, restored.
1 55 FCUB snow plowing tractor, front and rear weights, chains and plow.
1 76 FCUB mowing tractor with woods 59 on it.
A restored “mini" cub built by my father in early 70’s.
2005 Mahindra 3525 with FEL 2 WD
-- Any other type of farm equipment?
Restored 23 a disk
Another grader/snow plow
A restored sickle mower on one demo
Almost complete set of cultivators on the other demo
Cub Cadet M-60 zero turn mower
Complete 193-plow set up.
-- Trailers
18 ft trailer to haul two cubs
Solid iron yard wagon from cub cadet
Are your tractors used for show or working? Only the mowing tractor and Mahindra are work tractors, the others are for show. Most tractors that come to my place come to get a face lift and retire.
How much Land do you work (Acres) don’t “work†any per say, but I mow 8 acres each week. We have a total of 25 all together. Sold off 200 trees 2 yrs ago so now we are busy cleaning up the mess for firewood.
What was your first tractor experience (does not have to be a Farmall or Cub)? Working on dad and step dad’s farm. Driving tractors all by myself by age 10. Loved dads 504 International with Dual loader. Or step dads Allis 190. Dad ran red tractors; step dad had a rainbow of tractors, red, yellow, green and orange.
What is your Cub's primary work? Mowing.
What is the favourite Cub of all which you have owned and why? 59 Loboy, restored, it was my first show tractor. It came to me in 7 boxes and in the course of several months a friend and I put it back together. From not knowing a thing to putting it together and having it actually works.
What first sparked your interest in owning a Cub? Always loved tractors, long time friend offered to sell me his 55 cubs at a good price, at the right time (I had money). As I was tired of the 5 craftsman mowers breaking down each week.
What task/use of your Cub provides the most enjoyable seat time? Mowing or tractor parades
Favourite thing you like about Cub's and Cadets? Getting together with the people
Describe your most satisfying or frustrating experience working on your own or someone else's Cub? Letting people work on my cub while hosting docfest. And hearing them say oh oh, might as well, since we are here, got to take the hood off. All that sounds expensive too me. My 55 has been a real pain attempting to track down an electrical problem. Starting was the issue. Replaced all electrical components at least twice. Only thing left to do is replace-wiring harness. Which we may do at next docfest. But the long and short of it is, it will start when it wants to, and dies when it wants too. My desires mean nothing. When there is work to be done, guarantee it wont start.
Do you host or participate in Cub Fests, Cubarama, and Mini-Cub Fests? How so? I host DOCFEST every year. This has been very fulfilling for the family and me. Having my extended family in for a couple of days of tractors and fun. We look forward to every year. We put a lot into it and appreciate every one that comes or attempts to come. We also attend at least one long distance cub event every year. We try to rotate it between the big three. We also are sure to hit the Indiana Cubfest since it’s so close.

Do you have any immediate goals in your life? Get my MHC licensure (mental health counselling). Eligible in May. That brings a 20% pay raise, more responsibilities of course. Then I focus on house got a room to remodel, couple walls to knock out, wood flooring to lay in 4 rooms and a hallway. Carpet to lay in 2 rooms and a stairwell. A couple more decks to build. Another barn expansion. Hot tub to install. Some landscaping to do. Along with that trying to get all that firewood cleaned up before the bugs get. FIL has 400 trees to clean up, and he hasn’t started yet, but he is 78 yrs old.

Interesting bio Question, Naval, Army or Air At least we know it was aviation...
We will get there some day for DocFest... and I agree, one of the most satisfying things to do with a Cub is to cut/split and haul firewood
