Tractors and models owned? At present I own 9 Cub Cadets and my wife owns a 66 Lo-Boy. In the past I owned a 49 Cub (non electric), a 64 Cub, 57 and 66 Lo-Boy, and numerous Cub Cadets including a prototype, a test model S/N 510, and a line setup unit S/N 556 (both pre-production tractors).

How much Land do you work (Acres)? None, just a city subdivision lot.
What was your first tractor experience (does not have to be a Farmall or Cub)? Pulling a hay wagon (rack) with a Case VAC as a preteen.
What is your Cub's primary work? Show
What is the favorite Cub of all which you have owned and why? Cub Cadet S/N 510 because it was somewhat rare, and spent all of it's life except for the test period, in Kentucky where it was born. It was one of 25 test tractors built in Nov, 1960, that was sent to the southern region of the US for 50 hours of testing by commercial type users, although the test location is unknown at this time. It was then purchased and used by a Kentucky IH employee for many years and finally traded on a new model at a Lexington, KY Cub Cadet dealer. The dealer had it stored on his farm for over 10 years when I bought it and refurbished it 2004. It was not as rare as the prototype, but I liked it better. Because I don't have the room to keep them all, It is now in the hands of a collector in MA.
What first sparked your interest in owning a Cub? I worked across the runway from the old Louisville, IH plant where they were built. The plant was adjacent to Louisville's Standiford Field airport (now Louisville International and a runway runs thru the old plant location)
What task/use of your Cub provides the most enjoyable seat time? Cutting grass and using them for transportation around shows.
Favorite thing you like about Cub's and Cadets? For the most part they are simple machines and easy to work on. I enjoy refurbishing them. I don't use the words "restore, restored, restoring," because I don't do that.
Describe your most satisfying or frustrating experience working on your own or someone else's Cub? Most satisfying thing is bringing a dead one back to life, whether it's mine or helping someone else. The most frustrating is having to split a Lo-Boy more than once to fix a clutch problem.
Do you host or participate in CubFests, Cubarama, Mini-CubFests? How so? I participated in CubFest 2003, and have taken tractors to display in all but the first Cubarama.

What other hobbies do you enjoy? Working with wood.
Do you hunt or fish? Not anymore, but I use to hunt.

What is your favorite Sport? I enjoy NASCAR racing, although some don't consider it a sport.

Favorite Book? I don't read fiction, but enjoy books that tell you how to do things or how things were done, such as the Foxfire series of books from the 70's, 80's and early 90's. This doesn't include the "directions" that come with something new.
Favorite Movie? Eldorado, and/or it's similar but different twin, Rio Bravo.
Favorite Actor/Actress? John Wayne/ Doris Day
