Search Techniques

I am wanting to do a search for " demonstration cub". How can I list so that it will not pull up topics which contain "demonstration" in one sentence and "cub" in another sentence? Thanks, Dan

Dan,

Enclose "demonstratOR Cub" in parentheses and click the "search all terms" button. It just turned up 23 messages for me.

Thanks, George. Someone on ATIS forum wants info on this group of cubs. I will check to see if he still needs the information. Dan

Dan:

Lets see if this works:

Search Query
Search for Keywords:

You can use AND to define words which must be in the results, OR to define words which may be in the result and NOT to define words which should not be in the result. Use * as a wildcard for partial matches
Search for any terms or use query as entered
    Search for all terms

Search for Author:
Use * as a wildcard for partial matches

K, well the print screen trick didn't work, but:

These are the search paramaters that are default for the forum search engine. If you notice the line in red is the line that has been checked - asgain the default.

If you want to narrow down the search, you can use statement qualifiers such as "Demonstrator Cub" "Demonstrator Cubs" etc., which will decrease the number of hits that you get. Use the same techniques on Google, Alta Vista, Yahoo, MSN search engines...

OR:

You can simply check the "Search for all terms" line. This will accomplish exactly what you wish to derive from your search query.

Hope this helps...

Thanks, Rudi. I will copy that as a reference to use in later searches. Dan
