We have too many stickies...

Postby allenlook » Sat Mar 18, 2006 6:50 pm

We have so many stickies and announcements, I can't even see the new posts anymore without scrolling down!

Oh sure, it sounds like a small thing, but hey, for someone who frequents the forum, it's kind of a pain!

Can't we consolidate some of them?

I have never noticed that because I only click on the new since last visit feature.

My gripe is that the board takes forever to get a post to open or even now I waited 2-minutes just to reply to this post. This only started a couple days ago.

BOARD NEEDS A TUNE-UP :o
Then came Bronson

I haven't had any problems with any of the above. Do you have cable or dial-up :?: You may need to refresh every now an then.

Allen:

By my count we have 2 announcements and 4 stickies. On the Farmall Cub Forum that is. Not a lot... in my view, considering why they are there.

1 Announcement is for the Final round of Free Gas Caps. That will be gone probably by June... as the program will end, and then there will be no need for that announcement.

1 Announcement is the New Members and Visitors, Please READ Prior to Posting, which is pretty much a must have.

Then there is one for the Farmall Cub Picture Server -- pretty much another must have.. Then for the How To Topics - and considering the amount of questions we get on that topic, I think it is pretty germane to the forum.

The Pic Posting, well that could go into the HOW TO Forum.. and probably should..

Aside from that, there probably won't be too many additions to this forum. The How To Forum, well those stickies are because they are useful and common. Saves a lot of time searching through the archives.

As it is, you can only see about a dozen threads and you have to scroll, so I don't see a problem there.....

Does this help?????

Rudi,
By my count it is 2 and 6

I'm on cable & the site does seem very slow at times.

I noticed it started when Dennis added the adds.
I figured it was just the server load.
If it's been broken I did it.
If its not broken wait till I touch it.
