three letter searches

Postby Paul Van Benschoten » Thu Oct 12, 2017 6:19 am

I have been looking for posts on Rim Repair. I know I have seen several where a patch was welded or made of fiberglass and epoxy.

I tried searching for rim repair or +rim +repair but "rim" was always ignored.

I found a post about searching that mentioned using an * would get past the three character limit but I still get
Search found 8395 matches: +rim* +repair
Searched query: +repair

ignored: +rim*

Am I doing something wrong? I've tried the Advanced Search as well as the "search this forum" .

Edit: I just found Clem's rim repair post viewtopic.php?t=14563&highlight=

Hi Paul,

The built-in search function limits searches to 4 to 84 characters in length. This is a limitation of the database server. If you need to search for fewer characters, try the Google search box right below the built-in search.

Thanks,
Dennis

Paul, I tried "resin fiberglass repair" search and got 17 posts, some were mine about rim repair. If you would like some pictures, send me a PM.
