Rock Auto - Great all the way around!

Rock Auto is a real good online supply house for auto and some Cub parts (seals etc).

I ordered Monroe shocks and a fuel line filler pipe for my truck at 1:30 in the afternoon and the shocks showed up before noon the next day and the filler pipe the day after. The shocks were $5 each cheaper than the next alternative, in small print on the box it says "Made in USA".

A search on 'Rock Auto discount' using Yahoo search (or your favorite search engine) also gave me a 5% discount on the whole order.

I would strongly advise against ordering from Auto Parts Warehouse (also owns JC Whitney). They are beyond the edge of a fraudulent operation. When I ordered calipers for my truck, they sent a lower cost version but charged me for what I ordered. Took getting the credit card company involved to get a refund for the difference. They even took the discount back when giving a credit for the cores! Everything is 'in stock' on the web site, strange they couldn't ship me something that was 'in stock'. Delivery date is a mystery too, when I called customer service (in the Philippines) they said the order was shipped. They say they won't charge the credit card until the item ships, but they did. The delivery time was well over a week. I would have set the law on their tail if I had more time. Worse than TERRIBLE experience.

I checked both for the price on the last order, the fuel filler pipe was $81.79 from Rock Auto and over $114.76 from Auto Parts Warehouse.

 on Rock Auto.
As long as you plan ahead, the wait for parts to arrive is well worth the savings. Most parts arrive in a few days.
For example, I replaced the front wheel bearings on my 2006 Silverado a month ago.
MOOG/National Part No. 515036
Advance Auto (just up the road from us) $191.99 each plus 6.35% sales tax x 2 = $408.36.
Rock Auto (order to delivery-2 days) $238.05 delivered to the door for both, includes 5% discount and shipping.
Savings = $170

Distributor for our 2002 Astro
WAI Part No. DST1639
Advance Auto $239.99 plus 6.35% sales tax = $255.23
Rock Auto (order to delivery-7 days) $70.29 includes 5% discount and shipping.

Good advice, thanks. I'm about to undertake a vehicle restore and had been wondering about an online parts supplier.

My first order from Rock Auto had a Ford Steering Stabilizer, rather than a pair of rear shocks for my jeep. I called, told them the problem, they apologized, sent the correct parts immediately, and told me to keep the unwanted steering stabilizer, rather than ask me to ship it back. Even though a mistake was made, I was happy with their responsiveness and practicality, and have ordered from them since.

Anybody need a Ford steering stabilizer? :D

Been using this company for a few years and have also had no issues with their parts or customer service. They have real good pricing on most of the parts they offer, especially Moog suspension parts.

As a matter of fact Mr Spivey.... mine is rusty. But then again so were the shocks, one skirt was loosing pieces but still performed perfectly. They were Monroe 'Reflex', I didn't know what they were till I pulled them off. I opted to save $20 and get the Monroe 'Gas Magnum'. Both seem to be good shocks, made in USA! After a $30 rebate, all 4 shocks were less than $100 delivered. Not bad for an 8800# GVW truck!

Seems all online auto parts want to know a specific vehicle for parts. Cubs never seem to be listed! But you can find seals and what not if you know the MFG part number.

Yeah Harold, what's the project??
