Short back story -- Our son has a Kubota zero turn mower (it is a beast) and one of the steering dampers went bad and needed to be replaced.

OEM dealer the mower was purchased from -- $85.xx +6.5% sales tax
OEM dealer near me -- $82.xx +7.25% sales tax

SOOOOO, a bit of internet searching of the part number and Messick's (an aurhorized Kubota dealer) and the part lists for $45.83 + shipping. Ordered early yesterday afternoon and it was on my porch ~ 24 hours later. I'm impressed. Oh, and for those that find this important --- Kubota packaging with "Made in USA" by a company in Illinois.

That surprises me, Bill, I haven’t found their pricing that great but they have the parts when I need them. They are also very friendly and helpful on the few occasions that I’ve needed to call them. I certainly can’t give that same praise to our local Kubota dealer. If you look on the ID tag, you’ll probably find that mower is manufactured here in the U.S.
