Battery Charger

Reading some reviews on battery chargers. Similar to this one below:

Anyone have suggestions? What to avoid? Good or bad experiences? I can read the reviews online, but would rather hear from you all.

Am in no hurry for one, just thoughts toward getting one this year. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

I have one just like that and it has 6V on it as well. Have had it for several years. No complaints and it has been used quite a bit.

I own several Schumacher battery chargers. 10 amps down to 3/4 amp battery maintainers. Have 3 or 4 of the battery maintainers. They work well, no problems.

Question. Do you really a 200 amp battery charger when you have jumper cables and another running 12 volt vehicle?

Thanks, Shane. If that kickstand is plastic, I'm not crazy about that. But good to know you haven't had any issues.

Eugene, was planning to use it for my 6V batteries on the tractors, not 12V usage. Could also serve as a power source for future electrolysis tank.

What about a manual charger vs. an automatic?

If you're going to use it with an e-tank, you want it to be manual.

Fielding a fleet of Top Fuel cars is crazy expensive! Don Schumacher will appreciate the business! Actually, Schumacher is probably the biggest name in the business, I'd probably go with one of them.

Thanks, Gary. Schumacher has been around a long time and I'd like them over an off-brand available at Harbor Freight.

I have the same exact charger/starter only probably 25 or 30 years old. They make some quality battery chargers. I use the 200 amp jumper a lot.

Just to finish out this thread...

Went to Northern Tool today and picked up the battery charger I listed in the 1st post above. I had received a sale flyer from them about a month ago, tucked it away and forgot about it. Pulled it out and saw the sale ended today. It was on sale for $30 off list price in the flyer, then there was a $20 off coupon to be used on any single purchase of $100 or more. So, ended up getting it for $50 off.

Felt like that was as good a deal I could get new.
