Flu Shot
This would be in OT but it is solemn now for proper reasons. Remember waking up after a dream or recollection which has you laughing? Doesn't happen to me. It did this morning. At the medical center for checkups, in the small room awaiting the Dr. a small two taps on the door. This perky young lady pops in and says "arm or buttocks" I said, I guess arm but what "roll up your sleeve" she says. In seconds she wiped the area shot me up, put a bandaid on it and out the door she went. I'll tell you she had a bandelero or holster of syringes . She was movin' with these flu shots. I looked back when exiting the building because she would give me another in the buttock. She was patrolling like the Marshall in Dodge City. Like a hummingbird she was so fast but striking beautiful when you see it.

Wife and I received our flu shots last week. It wasn't nearly as dramatic as portrayed above.
I have an excuse. CRS.

It is good to know that it is too dramatic. Its just not going happen again, even if i wanted it.

Is it the shot or the dramatization that's not going to happen again?mozer71 wrote:It is good to know that it is too dramatic. Its just not going happen again, even if i wanted it.
So far this calendar year I've had blood drawn 7 times, 3 root canals, toenails removed from two toes, and an uncounted number of shots.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: Flu Shot
I suppose too much drama about one small occurrence. I have a boatload of things ahead for me and not sure I'll be telling about it. A friend of mine had bad teeth and underwent surgery and basically replaced his teeth but he got ill. He was ill in bed and a neighbor found him dead in bed. You don't forget things like that.

Re: Flu Shot
I'm debating on whether or not to get a flu shot this year. In years past, I would say about 90% of the shots I've received, immediately afterwards, I got the flu. I got one last year, and it was the first time in a while that I didn't get the flu after getting the shot. Our company offers them up for free, so I'll probably go get one again this year, but I'm always leery since my experience with them hasn't been too positive.

Oh, T-Mo. Of all things, I went to CVS on a Sunday. I wasn't feeling too well about getting the - FLUZONE HIGH- DOSE 2019-20 SYR shot. It was fine. No pain at all and no interactions that I know of. The toll is rising of the flu deaths. Wish you the best, meaning you get a shot.

I stopped getting them, years ago. Always got the flu, from them, so I quit. Probably had flu twice, since then, and I worked in a hospital, exposed to flu germs, all winter.

We are different in regards to these shots. Your body tells you what isn't good for it and glad for that.

Re: Flu Shot
I always got a flu shot when I was working as we were in close contact with a part of society that was generally in poor health. You’d think we were taking a trip overseas with all the inoculations we’d get.
Having retired I stopped getting those shots. Well last winter my whole house got the flu and were down for the count for a full week with a very high fever (102-103+).
Not repeating that this year!
Getting my shot.
Paula already got hers and she had some issues with it the day after but it was worth avoiding last winters repeat.

Re: Flu Shot
I don't get them. 1/3 of the way through winter start the new viruses that aren't covered. If I get the flu, I get it....but rarely get it. Dress warm, eat non processed foods...guess I am lucky or on to something

Re: Flu Shot
I know the flu shots don't cover all the strains, but5 do cover them most common ones that were in Asia, which is natural, because normally the same flu in Asia is here a few months later. I always get the shot, plus have taken the pneumonia series. It has been many years since I had the flu, and I figure that is a combination of the shot, and a lot of common sense items such as frequent hand washing, using the sanitary tissues most grocery stores provide to wipe off shopping cart handles plus your hands.
